Alignment Daniel on behalf of WG
Sources of information • Photometry during installation • Measurements done in “parking position”, untilted wheels • Alignment sensors • No Z measurement • Need zero point (in time) and absolute (x,y) reference • Zero point measurements are incomplete • Not taken at the same time as photometry • Measurements of wheels 2A and 2C weren’t written to data-base until July’10 • Some calibration problems • Diodes in alignment corridors • Only 96 measurements out of 1500 units • ~40% not working • Goal (unachieved) : find well establish correlations between the incomplete sets of data
Intermediate conclusion After we solved the (not trivial) problems of inversions, it seems that: The 4 wheels we could follow (either wrt to zero point measurement or to long term average) didn’t distort significantly over the years, except for two sectors in M3C A request from the “analysts”: save raw information aside the results of computation of the into the data base
2nd Intermediate conclusion After all reasonable corrections one can think of, one can’t honestly say that we do see a rock-solid correlation between diodes and photometry measurements
Prospects • We should have “soon” photometry measurements of external wheels 3A and 3C • We need complete robust concomitant measurements fromsensors and diodes • No way to avoid alignment with tracking
