  1. Arabic language and Moral ValuesAL-SAHEEFA SAJAADIYAHLesson ….. DUA of Wednesday Explanation by Safdar Razi

Allah (swt) reminds us of his bounties in the Quran in several places, for eg “Washhamsi wadhuhahaa….”, ie to appreciate the night, because the night is the time when we re-charge ourselves, or our body regenerates, etc. Or for eg in the brain, we have synapses, and acetylcholine passes the info/pulses from one cell to another, and lack of which causes a person to feel sleepy. This sleep is a blessing from Allah (swt), because it is this phase in which we get to relax from the work of the day. Furthermore, when we sleep, it reminds us of death, because sleep itself is temporary death, and the only difference is that death is permanent.

  4. CONT….. So here, the “night cover”, refers to the cover/protection from light, or it can also mean that it covers our fatigue, by sleeping during the night. Suratul Falaq, Allah (swt) states, “Wa min sharri ghaasiqin idhaa waqab”….darkness has evil, but also day has evil….But the blessing of the night is, that you get relieve, and other benefits. Benefits of spreadout in the mroning include earning livelihood, exercise, socialising, da’wah, studying/gaining education, etc….

  5. وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا وَالنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًا وَجَعَلَ النَّهَارَ نُشُورًا {47} [Shakir 25:47] And He it is Who made the night a covering for you, and the sleep a rest, and He made the day to rise up again

  6. Verses of NABA” • جَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا {9} • [Shakir 78:9] And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), • وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا {10} • [Shakir 78:10] And We made the night to be a covering, • وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا {11} • [Shakir 78:11] And We made the day for seeking livelihood.

  7. SIMILARITIES OF DEATH AND SLEEP- ZOMOR • اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَى عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَى إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ {42} • [Shakir 39:42] Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep; then He withholds those on whom He has passed the decree of death and sends the others back till an appointed term; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.

  8. Therefore, death is a blessing. For eg, a person lives for a hundred years, he keeps on getting weaker and weaker, and hence death becomes a blessing for him…Similarly for a person who is very sick, death becomes a blessing for him. Therefore, both Death and life are blessings. “Alladhee khalaqal mawta wal hayaat”…..So, it is glorifying Allah for creating both life, and death also. Aimmah (as) have said that death is a bridge, which takes you from this world, to Allah (swt)

Allah (swt) has created everything in a perfect manner (taswiya)…for eg suratul Aála, “Alladhee khalaqa, fasawwaa”..he not only created, but perfected his creation

We have various Aámal which brings the mercy of Allah (swt) more closer. The competition, is to use the best of Wasila. There are many legitimate Wasaael to Allah (swt). But we need to use the best and fastest ones, for eg the Ahlul Bayt (as)

  11. Suratul Maidah (5:35):- “O you who have faith! Be wary of Allah, and seek the means of recourse (wasila) to him, and wage Jihaad in his way, so that you may be felicitous”. Suratul Bani Israel (17:57):- “They (themselves) are the ones who supplicate, seeking a recourse (wasila) to their Lord, whoever is nearer (to Him), expecting his mercy and fearing his punishment. Indeed your Lord’s punishment is a thing to beware of”.

  12. The beautiful thing when it comes to Allah (swt) is, that there is always a door of generosity and tawbah for us…..His door of repentance is always open….”Call unto me and I will answer you”……His doors of mercy are unlimited…..

  13. This is the dua for Wednesday, but it can be recited anyday when a person wants four things, mentioned in the next slides….

  14. Dua for four things on Wednesday

  15. Dua for four things on Wednesday O my Allah, in the hours of this Wednesday, • fulfill my four desires, • give me strength to obey Thee,  • active in Thy worship, • willingness to earn Thy rewards, • self-control to keep off that which brings Thy terrible punishment; verily Thou very kindly and lovingly operates Thy will. • O Allah! Send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.

  16. rgr ـ فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّد خاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ، وَعَلى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ، وَارْزُقْنِي شَفاعَةَ مُحَمَّد صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ، وَلا تَحْرِمْنِي صُحْبَتَهُ إنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ. therefore send blessing on Muhammad, the Last Prophet, on his pure and pious children, and make available for me recommendations of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be on him and on his children, and do not deprive me of his company, verily Thou art the Most Merciful.
