Reasoning • The rules, logic, principles, or chains of thought that connect your evidence to your claim • The “so what?” for your evidence
Qualification • You can’t prove any claim 100%, so you need to attach phrases to your argument that make it clear you are reasonable. • Words like usually, sometimes, etc.
Counterargument • What the opposite side would have to say about your points • You should understand both sides of an argument
Rebuttal • Your response to the opposing side’s counter-argument • Why you are still right
