Introduction to LecShare How Does LecShare Make My Powerpoint Presentation Accessible? • LecSharemakes your presentation accessible by checking to ensure that every item in a presentation can be accessed in alternative ways. • People with disabilities frequently use assistive technologies to allow them to interact with computers.

  15. Export Options Available Depending on the version of LecShare you are using (LecShare Lite or LecShare Pro) Export Options are are: • Accessible HTML • Microsoft Word Document LecShare Pro offers these audio options • QuickTime Movie • MPEG-4 (Video Podcast)

  16. Accessible HTML • To ensure that your presentation is accessible you must, at a minimum, export your presentation to the Accessible HTML format.

  29. MS Word Option • The Microsoft Word format only contains pictures of the slides in sequential order. This file is not meant to meet accessibility standards. It is used to make documents to distribute to a class or audience so they can take notes on a laptop during the presentation. • For a presentation to be accessible, the HTML version should be exported in addition.

  30. LecShare Pro Only QuickTime Movie Options • This exports the presentation as QuickTime movie. The movie size and quality can be adjusted. There is also an option to include a browseable Table of Contents and captions. This option would work well to accommodate hearing impaired students.

  31. LecShare Pro Only MPEG-4 Option • This exports the presentation to an MPEG-4 video file which is compatible with many portable video players (including the video iPod™) and also with QuickTime. Please note, the MPEG-4 export does not meet accessibility requirements. To ensure that your presentation meets accessibility requirements you will need to export either the HTML or the QuickTime movie in addition to the MPEG-4 format.
