Learning Outcomes - Knowledge & Understanding  • Critically reflect on their learning needs and determine own learning outcomes in order to facilitate learning in the workplace; • Understand the key practices and theories in project management; • Critical evaluate the planning, scheduling and reporting processes leading to the successful; • Demonstrate an advanced level of competence and confidence in the understanding and application of relevant concepts and disciplines relevant to a specific work based project; • Apply critical understanding and evaluation of the specific literature and research which is relevant to their chosen area of investigation;

Learning Outcomes - Subject-Specific Skills  • Critically analyse the project management skills that have been developed from a wide body of knowledge; • To apply research methods combined with advanced knowledge and understanding gained to the solution of complex practical problems; • Produce a plan for advanced learning in the workplace and formulate a learning contract with M level outcomes; • Identify an aspect of their employment which is relevant to their own experience and which is not fully addressed by the previous research literature; • Respond effectively to a real employment issue by applying appropriate conceptual and current research models.

  7. Learning Contracts A learning contract is basically a short agreement in writing between a trainee and supervisor. It outlines what is expected to be learned in a specific period and the method of assessment of that learning. Although it is a formal written agreement it need not be complex. It should outline: • what the trainee will learn • how the learning will be accomplished • how the learning will be assessed.
