  1. International Day Of Persons With Disabilities: Everything You Need To Know Today, the world's population exceeds seven billion, and more than one billion people, or around 15% of the world's population, have some disability, with more than 80% living in developing countries.

  2. History Of World Disability Day • World Disability Day was marked by the United Nations General Assembly 1992 to promote the rights and well-being of disabled people in all aspects of society and development.

  3. When Is It Celebrated? • Since 1992, December 3 has been declared the International Day of People with Disability (IDPD). This day is dedicated to increasing awareness of disability problems and organizing support for individuals' dignity, rights, and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

  4. Importance Of World Disability Day Here are a couple of reasons why everyone needs to understand the importance of World Disability Day: • It Raises Awareness: People with impairments might feel ignored in our culture at times. People, occupied in their busy lives, scarcely see them in their everyday routines. Don't be indifferent! Try to be kind and make yourself accessible to help if they appear to be facing difficulty. • We Gain A Better Understanding Of The Difficulties Disabled People Face: If we ask ourselves how often we consider the facilities disabled people get, whether it be treasured parking spaces, the buttons to open doors automatically, or the sloped curbs at intersections, then only we realize how few of these accommodations exist. Take a moment and absorb this reality.

  5. How To Celebrate World Disability Day • Helping In Any Way You Can Offer help to someone or anyone in need of assistance. Sometimes, simple things like dropping off the mail, delivering medicine, or picking up a few groceries for you may make a significant impact in the life of somebody with a disability. • Showing Some Empathy Remember that the next time you snap at someone or unleash your frustration at them, that person may have a disability. Remember that their lives would always be like that, but your difficulties are usually temporary. Treat them the same way you would like to be treated.  • Advocating For Disabled People Take a look around your area and the places you visit. If there are no accommodations for individuals with disabilities, ask the authorities to install them. It's required by law.
