  1. What is DECA? • To be the leading, innovative extra-curricular program for secondary school students in Ontario by creating professional partnerships and experiential learning opportunities that allow students to develop confidence and demonstrate leadership in the business community.

  2. What does that mean? • DECA is different! • DECA is for those that want to be leaders! • DECA allows you to meet professionals in the business community. • DECA helps give you the confidence to grow new skills.

  3. What do we do in DECA? • Individual and team oral events. • Role play a business case study with a pro. • Written proposals. • Complete a written project and present it to a pro. • Regional Competition. • Saturday, November 9 at SJAM. • Provincial Competition. • Feb 9-11, 2014 in Toronto

  4. How much does it cost? • Regional Competition - $40.00 (Includes registration fee and bus transportation) • Provincial Competition – Approximately $225, which includes registration, two nights accommodation at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, transportation and all meals except lunch. You must qualify at the regional level to go to provincials.

  5. What do I do? • Go to 2013.deca.ca to register. • Selects “Students” and then “Register” and follow the links. • Register starting Friday and please complete registration by Wednesday, September 18. • Bring $40 to Mr. Fage or Mrs. Rosario by Wednesday, September 18. ($20 for those that attended Provincials in 2013)
