  4. Process Improvements • IPS Audit Program is working with other NASA audit programs to make NASA auditing leaner without sacrificing effectiveness. There will be added benefits in having teams with deeper experience in all phases, and the ability to cross-pollinate lessons learned more easily. • Joint IPS Audits/OCE Surveys & Joint IPS/Procurement Surveys • Joint IPS/Center Internal Audits (AS9100 compliance & SMA req.) • Integrate OSMA IPS and PA&R assessments with program assessments Joint IPS/Program Office audits are being conducted in a joint effort with JSC’s Constellation Program • Integrate Supplier audits between NASA centers & DCMA • Establish a NASA SMA audit management team to coordinate NASA SMA audits 10/28/2008 Supplier Symposium

NASA Audit Management Team • NASA Audit Management Team (NAMT) • Purpose: Perform government S&MA auditing function more efficiently • Method: Integrate audit functions where practical by: • Performing audits jointly across centers and programs/projects • Sharing audit results between centers • Sharing DCMA data across centers and programs/projects • Collaborate with Joint Audit Planning Committee (JAPC) • Membership: NASA Programs, Centers, & DCMA • Subteams: • Programmatic including supplier assessments • Centers including AS9100 compliance and OSMA requirements • Data needed from programs & suppliers: • Critical Suppliers and Supplier audit schedules • DCMA audit schedules • Audit & Assessment Results • Agency Database (SAARIS) • Common Location to store audit findings, best practices, • and corrective actions 10/28/2008 Supplier Symposium
