  3. awarded to the batsman who scores the most runs in the tournament. In this article, we will take a trip down memory lane and look at the Orange Cap winners from 2008 to 2023. IPL 2023 Orange Cap Player Name - Faf du Plessis (RCB) South African batsman and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis is the current Orange Cap holder in the TATA IPL 2023 with 405 Runs. He is followed by CSK's Devon Conway 314 runs and DC's David Warner 306 runs. 2008- Shaun Marsh (Kings XI Punjab) The inaugural season of the IPL saw Shaun Marsh of Kings XI Punjab win the Orange Cap. He scored 616 runs in 11 matches with an average of 68.44 and a strike rate of 139.68. Marsh played a crucial role in taking Kings XI Punjab to the semi-finals of the tournament. 2009- Matthew Hayden (Chennai Super Kings) Matthew Hayden of Chennai Super Kings won the Orange Cap in the second season of the IPL. He scored 572 runs in 12 matches with an average of 52.00 and a strike rate of 144.81. Hayden's performances helped Chennai Super Kings reach the semi-finals of the tournament. 2010- Sachin Tendulkar (Mumbai Indians) In the third season of the IPL, Sachin Tendulkar of Mumbai Indians won the Orange Cap. He scored 618 runs in 15 matches with an average of 47.53 and a strike rate of 132.61. Tendulkar's consistent performances were instrumental in Mumbai Indians winning their first IPL title. 2011- Chris Gayle (Royal Challengers Bangalore) Chris Gayle of Royal Challengers Bangalore won the Orange Cap in the fourth season of the IPL. He scored 608 runs in 12 matches with an average of 67.55 and a strike rate of 183.13. Gayle's exploits with the bat helped Royal Challengers Bangalore reach the playoffs of the tournament.

He scored 660 runs in 16 matches with an average of 44.00 and a strike rate of 137.78. Uthappa's performances with the bat were instrumental in Kolkata Knight Riders winning their second IPL title. 2015- David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad) David Warner of Sunrisers Hyderabad won the Orange Cap in the eighth season of the IPL. He scored 562 runs in 14 matches with an average of 43.23 and a strike rate of 156.54. Warner's consistent performances helped Sunrisers Hyderabad reach the playoffs of the tournament. 2016- Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore) The ninth season of the IPL saw Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore win the Orange Cap. He scored a staggering 973 runs in 16 matches with an average of 81.08 and a strike rate of 152.03. He scored 735 runs in 17 matches with an average of 52.50 and a strike rate of 142.44. Williamson's captaincy and performances with the bat led Sunrisers Hyderabad to the final of the tournament. 2019- David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad) David Warner won the Orange Cap for the third time in the twelfth season of the IPL. He scored 692 runs in 12 matches with an average of 69.20 and a strike rate of 143.86. Despite Sunrisers Hyderabad not making it to the playoffs, Warner's performances with the bat were remarkable. 2020- KL Rahul (Kings XI Punjab) KL Rahul of Kings XI Punjab won the Orange Cap in the thirteenth season of the IPL. He scored 670 runs in 14 matches with an average of 55.83 and a strike rate of 129.34. Rahul's captaincy and performances with the bat were instrumental in Kings XI Punjab reaching the playoffs of the tournament. 2021- KL Rahul (Punjab Kings) KL Rahul won the Orange Cap for the second time in a row in the fourteenth season of the IPL. He scored 626 runs in 14 matches with an average of 62.60 and a strike rate of 136.21. Despite Punjab Kings not making it to the playoffs, Rahul's performances with the bat were once again remarkable.

He scored 863 runs in 14 matches with an average of 57.53 and a strike rate of 149.05. buttler performances with the bat were once again remarkable. Conclusion: The Orange Cap has been won by some of the best batsmen in the world over the years. It has been a platform for young and talented cricketers to showcase their skills and rise to fame. From Shaun Marsh in 2008 to jos buttler 2022, the Orange Cap has been won by some of the most consistent and outstanding batsmen in the IPL. As we gear up for the fifteenth season of the IPL, it will be interesting to see who wins the Orange Cap this time around.
