Our community projects • The Majlis is one of the few five star hotels in Kenya which work closely with members of the local community to conserve the environment and improve quality of life for the local people. • The management aims at building a brighter future for the local people, environment, and wildlife. • The Majlis is involved in a number of community projects in Kenya, some of which have been discussed further.
Wamba e Athena Onlus (WAO) • An international association that sustains projects in the sanitary and social sectors, WAO founded the Catholic Hospital Wamba in 1969. • The hospital provides invaluable sanitary services to about 200.000 people in the area. • The Majlis Resorts is an active contributor and sponsor of WAO.
ANIDAN • ANIDAN is an NGO founded for providing care and addressing the needs of young children in Kenya. • ANIDAN has a Shelter where they house one hundred children and also feed, dress, care for and educate over two hundred children. • The Majlis, a responsible Kenya beach resort, is an active contributor and supporter of ANIDAN.
Other contributions • The Majlis is committed to hiring local talent to train and to support the local community with over 95% of the staff being Kenyan. • We support the local soccer team of Shela village called “Bright Stars”. • We also make contribution to the local orphanages directly with the kind generosity of our esteemed guests
