  1. SJSU Service Navigation: Mentoring Program 7.16.19

  2. Mission Goal Mentoring Program: Assist clients in navigating and accessing available resources in the Adult Reentry Network and larger community and by extension, facilitate reentry into the community and the attainment of self-sufficiency.

  3. Mentors The Path to Expungement program hires former Record Clearance Project clients as Mentors.

  4. Student Assistants • San Jose State University students assist mentors when they meet with clients.

  5. Mentoring Program Overview • Mentors who have gone through the expungement process connect clients to needed resources • Mentors meet clients in jail and guide them from custody by creating a post-release plan to include immediate needs • Food/EBT • Housing/Shelter • Transportation • Appointments

  6. Eligibility Criteria (in custody) In-custody in jail Release dates within 45 days or less Unemployed at release No permanent housing in place ✦ Referral through Rehabilitation Officer

Mentoring Program Overview Cont. • Develop case planwith client upon release • Work to get there by creating short-term and long-term goals • Linkages to resources such as: • Mental Health/Substance Use Treatment • Legal Services • Employment • Education • Support groups • Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) groups • Out- of Custody

  9. Re-entry Resource Center Hours • P2E mentors have office hours at the RRC in • San Jose and South County • *San Jose RRC • 151 W Mission St, San Jose, CA 95110 • Tuesdays 10am-12pm, Thursdays 1pm-3pm • *Gilroy RRC • 8425 Murray Ave, Gilroy, CA 95020 • Thursdays 10am-12pm
