  1. SOIL TESTING: WHAT IS IT AND WHY IS IT CRUCIAL BEFORE YOUR NEW HOME BUILD? No matter where you look forland for sale to build your dream home, you run that risk if you do not conduct an accurate, comprehensive soil test first. It is easy to take your home's foundation for granted, especially if your land is level and the dirt does not present any apparent issues. A soil test is needed to choose the best land to construct your new home.

  2. WHAT IS A SOIL TEST? You must conduct a soil test during the initial stages of developing your new home. A geotechnical engineer (often known as a “Mud Doctor”) will take a sample of the soil from your lot. They will then provide your home designer with important details about the sort of soil they will be dealing with, specifically how reactive it is. The location of your master bedroom may not be as exciting to decide on as splashback colors, but without this information, your home designer would not have all the information they need to create a home that complements the land it is built on.

  3. TYPES OF SOIL TESTS DESCRIBED Class A: This type, which mainly consists of sand and rock, is acceptable. When it rains, there is little to no earth movement. This clay is of Class S and is just marginally reactive. Moisture causes mild ground movement. CLASS M: Silt or clay that is mildly reactive. Moisture causes moderate ground movement. Highly Reactive Clay, Classes H1 and H2. Moisture causes high ground movement. Extreme, highly reactive sites belong to class E. Extreme ground motions are a result of moisture. Class P: Issue: Soft soils, such as silt, soft clay, or airy sand. Moisture results in strange reactions.

  4. WHAT EFFECT DOES A SOIL TEST HAVE ON THE NEW HOUSE’S FOUNDATION? The power of knowledge: Knowledge is also money regarding the building blocks of your brand-new house. Varied moisture levels have different effects on each type of soil. Moisture would not have much of an impact on some soils, such as hard sand or rock. However, reactive clay is more prone to move, expand, and contract when exposed to moisture, and your home’s structure may easily be destroyed if it is not built with this movement in mind.

  5. DO SOIL TESTS AND GEOTECHNICAL REPORTS DIFFER FROM ONE ANOTHER? The reactivity of soil, or how much it moves, has been discussed thus far, but a geotechnical report delves deeper into your soil's chemical makeup and physical characteristics. A complete geotechnical analysis will show you the possibility of soil contraction and expansion as well as: ·The soil’s chemical composition ·Your soil’s physical characteristics ·Resilience of any naturally occurring soil slopes ·Potential flaw hazards ·Any further information about the construction that is required
