Safety • Still a top priority for LTAP/TTAP • PAR Data • Safety data show what is & is not happening across LTAP/TTAP • Data shared w/ FHWA Cross Office Working Group (COWG) this summer • Retool the questions (underway) • Inviting TTAP Centers to safety peer exchanges • Upcoming events • 2nd National Tribal Transportation Safety Summit (MN, August 28-30) • NW Safety Data Peer-to-Peer Exchange (LTAP Region 9, Boise, ID, August 15-16)
FHWA Resource Centers • Do you use the FHWA Resource Centers? • Air Quality, Civil Rights, Construction & Project Management, Environment, Finance Services, GeoTechnical, Hydraulics, Knowledge Application, Operations, Pavement & Materials, Planning, Right-of-Way, Safety & Design, Structures • www.fhwa.dot.gov/resourcecenter • Contact Options: put in a request during the annual call for service and ask your FHWA Division anytime • Develop one-pagers on what each does (coming soon)
NHI • Many courses going online • Several courses being converted into “LTAP/TTAP-friendly” versions • Through collaboration with NLTAPA Training Resources and Safety Work Groups • NHI Instructor Development Course (3.5 days) • Efforts underway to provide this training to some LTAP trainers (TTAP has done this already)
Technology Transfer Ad-Hoc Group • Community has agreed that an enhanced role for T2 can benefit Centers and their customers • FHWA has created an ad-hoc group reporting to SPC to work on this issue (meeting here in Grapevine) • Many options to consider • T2 Wiki, EDC-style model, conferences/peer exchanges, etc. • What do our partners do for this? • APWA, NACE, AASHTO (even NCHRP or UTCs) • Stay tuned…
Miscellaneous Updates • Have asked NLTAPA Work Groups for a wish list of needed resources • LTAP/TTAP Forums – are you there? Many easy options – including one daily email digest… • LTAP/TTAP Resource Database – why are you not there? More actual materials = more value to users… • Continuing to monitor EDC and gauge its impact on LTAP/TTAP (EDC 2, anyone…?) • Build a Better Mousetrap – entries on the web (done, available post-Grapevine)
