IDC Cross-Detailing • Critical to senior IDC leadership development • Diverse work force • Intent is to broaden skills, experience, and competencies across domain • Involves out of designator assignment within select IDC billets • Cross detail assignments • Most at O5 / O6 level • Growing pool in key O4 leadership positions

IDC Cross-Detailing • Available opportunities posted on PERS 47 web page • Constituent informs detailer of interest • Best and fully qualified nominated for position • Nominations forwarded to IDC Flag Panel • Orders/track developed by selectee’s detailer • Cross Detailing experience AQDs • O4/O5/O6 level by community; 12 in all • IDC officers should also seek to obtain Cross IDC exposure • Existing training • Participation in exercises • Documented in FITREP

IDC Command and Op/Lead Screening Board • Convenes annually in September • Panels include: • Board members include (1) Flag and (4) CAPTs from each designator • Screen to Vacancy • Goal is to slate in next FY but retain flexibility of 24 month window • Good stewardship detailing, adherence to NPC business rules • If encumbered, selectee will execute in subsequent FY • Don’t avoid JDAL/other restrictive tours, addressed in Precepts • Slating accomplished after results are promulgated • Slate approved by IDC Flag Panel

Placement Responsibilities • Commands Advocate • Ensure command’s USN fill rates IAW PERS-4, CNPC & CNP manning guidance • Work with commands N1/Manpower to identify specific billet requirements and prioritize fills • Articulate requirements to detailers • Review orders prior to release to ensure billet criteria met • Rank / Availability / Security Clearance / Joint Qualifications / etc • Develop training tracks/secure school quotas • Fund required en route schools • Staff nominative billets for command concurrence Placement’s role is the Commands Single Point of contact at NPC for Manning Issues
