  1. Egg Mobile S3CS3. Students will use tools and instruments for observing, measuring, and manipulating objects in scientific activities utilizing safe laboratory procedures.

  2. Assignment Guidelines • Study crash settings • Create a vehicle with provided materials • Place an egg inside the vehicle • Make sure the egg stays safe down the ramp • Students will be asked to create sketches to turn in and a reflection paper • This assignment will be graded based on the effort put into the design in addition to the safety of the egg

  3. Required The vehicle must include: 4 wheels, axles, and platform The egg must see over the edge Egg must be removable within 5 seconds Required Material

  4. Example Above is an example of a vehicle made. The egg made it safely down the ramp.

  5. Materials Provided Each student will receive a platform, a straw, axels, and 4 wheels It is then up to the students to be creative and use any materials provided including: Egg cartons Foam Pipe cleaners Cotton balls Glue

  6. Outcomes It is expected the eggs successfully make it down the ramp in one piece, unharmed. If you do not succeed the first time, modify and try again.

  7. Instructions &Materials To Turn In • Instructions: • Place the axels on the platform • Attach the wheels to the axels • Look up information on safety guidelines, a good resource would be car vehicles safety • Turn in: • A sketch of original idea • A reflection paper • What was the outcome? • What did you think the outcome would be? • Why did you chose the materials you did? • Would you do it differently? • What did you learn?
