  3. Disadvantages • Transportation takes a long and is uncomfortable • Goes through the Ural Mountains. • Inland waterways are important, but many long rivers drain north into the frigid Arctic Ocean and freeze in the winter.

  4. Problem of the Land that Affects Transportation • Russia is very large, so Trans-Siberian Railroad costs a lot of money. Especially from Moscow to Vladivostok. • Has very few roads. • In the east part it is very mountainous

Transportation in Moscow • The metro is all one zone there is no special zone. • The metro is open from 5:20 A.M to 1:00 A.M. • The rush hours for the metro in Moscow are 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. and 17:00 P.M. to 19:00 P.M. • Getting around in Moscow by metro and public transport | www.waytorussia.net/

  6. Plane route prices • From Moscow to St.Petersburg is sixty US dollars • Moscow to Vladivostok is 500 to 650 dollars for return flight • Moscow to Irkutsk is 300 to 400 dollars for a return flight • Moscow to Petropavlovsk is 500 dollars for a return flight

Water Transportation • Many Russian rivers run from south to north making their use difficult during the winter. • During the winter most of the ports are covered in slow and ice which makes it hard to move around. • When trading, they must transport their goods another 200 miles to reach the nearest part of inland Russia
