Student Questions • Victims of bullying experience depression, anxiety, and loneliness. • How would you describe those conditions? • 15% of students report they are stressed by peer abuse. • 85% of bullying takes place in public. • Where do you think it takes place here at ACP? • 6% of children admitted to bullying others more than once or twice in the past 6 weeks.

  3. Student Questions cont. • What is cyber bullying? • Mean online comments • Mean text messages • Mean emails • 17% of student admitted to bullying another individual online.

  4. Discussion Questions • Can you relate to what was happening in the video? • Have you ever been in an uncomfortable position where you did not know how to react? What was your reaction? • Why do we let it happen? • What can you do to stop bullying? • Why do bullies fight? • How does it make you feel?

  5. Thinking Maps Create a thinking map in groups of 4 for each topic. Bullying (cause and effect) Bully (bubble) Victim (bubble) Bystander (bubble) Ally (bubble) Present ideas to class.

To frighten, compel, or deter by actual or implied threats. This includes any act injures, degrades, or disgraces a student by means of physical, verbal, or psychological threats, intimidation, insults, or other aggressive behavior.

  10. If You are Considered a Bully by Your Peers Follow the “Golden Rule” and ACP Code of Ethics • Learn to watch your behavior • Remain silent when tempted to tease or joke • Talk to an adult you trust • Get active in something positive • Apologize • Practice kindness
