  1. College Credit NOW! Also known as Dual Enrollment

  2. What is Dual Enrollment? Dual enrollment is an opportunity for Georgia high school students to take college-level courses and earn concurrent credit toward a high school diploma and a college degree. Participation in dual enrollment can help ease the transition from high school to college, provide students an early start on their college careers and offers meaningful and challenging academic experiences to qualified students.

  3. Dual Enrollment ProgramsTwo Types: ACCEL –program offered to students who wish to receive high school and college credit for completing graduation and high school diploma requirements while working towards the completion of an Associates or Bachelor Degree. Students may be part-time or full-time. (academic courses only) Move On When Ready – provides an eligible 11th or 12th grade student the opportunity to “move on “ to a postsecondary institution full-time. Students receive high school and college credit for completing graduation and high school diploma requirements; students are prohibited from taking classes at their high school. (academic and elective courses)

  4. Benefits of Dual Enrollment • Students get two for one credit (High school & College) • Financially beneficial to students and parents • Exposed to expanded course offerings • Moves them ahead on their college completion • Higher college preparedness • Connects personal interest to importance of academics

  5. What’s the Difference? • Both programs do not accept summer school, remediation or exemption courses. • Neither program will count against 127 hour HOPE limits students are eligible for after graduation.
