Classwork • Write a short news article in your notebook using YELLOW JOURNALISM. • Your news article should be about either General Weyleror the sinking of the battleship Maine. • Read the handout for specifics. • You must include at least FIVE details form your notes or the handout. Underline these details.

In your summary, you must use at least EIGHT terms/details from the reading or notes today. PLEASE UNDERLINE THESE DETAILS. OR… • Create a short timeline of the Spanish American War in your notebook with EIGHT specific events from the reading/notes. (see below example) Example: • Event #1: President Monroe announces the Monroe Doctrine in 1823, stating that the US will defend Latin America from European domination • Event #2:….
