  2. USING VEX IQ HARDWARE The VEX IQ platform kits provide easy, fun, and accessible tools to learn all four legs of STEM, no matter what your learning needs and desires may be. This curriculum unit lesson will familiarize you with the kit hardware and the VEX IQ Controller or Robot Brain. One of the best overall features of the VEX IQ hardware is its flexibility. If you can imagine it, you can build it with VEX IQ. The system allows for building of non-powered models, powered mechanisms and machines, as well as full-blown tele-operated and autonomous robots.

  5. LESSON 2 STARTER Learning objective: Be able to recognize VEX IQ hardware parts and components visually. Learn more about the VEX IQ platform. Develop a knowledge about the robot brain. Task 1: Can you find the components? Open up your VEXIQ box and take out your hardware.Can you match the components with their picture.

LESSON 2 STARTER Task 4: Pairing the Controller with the Robot brain Initial Wireless Setup Items you will need: Robot Brain with Radio and Robot Battery installed VEX Controller with Radio and Controller Battery installed Tether Cable P/N: 228-2786 In order for the Robot Brain and Controller to communicate wirelessly, they must be paired together. Before pairing these devices together, a radio and battery must be installed into each of them. With both devices OFF, connect the Robot Brain to the Controller using the Tether Cable. Now follow the rest of the instructions in the hand-out to pair up the controller and brain
