Making Excellence Inclusive: A UCR Diversity Certificate ProgramBranding UCR as an Employer of Choice for Veterans and Military Members Branding UCR Community Abstract Sample commitment statement and logo UCR would like to implement new strategies to distinguish itself as an employer of choice for veterans and for military members in order to reach the University’s mission of inclusive excellence, community, and compliance. • Create staff veterans page • Utilize the UCR Veterans, Military Members, and Families Group to assist in recruitment and retention activity • Create a commitment statement to be used on webpages and print ads • Utilize veteran and military social media • Create partnerships with local military support programs Marketing • Highlight veterans prominently on HR site • Create a landing page for vets with • featured veteran employee • links to the job search page • links to online tools designed for vets • Advertise job opportunities through military job boards and veteran job fairs • Create internship program to transition student veterans to staff A veteran highlight prominently displayed on the UCR Human Resources website Deisy Escobedo, Maggie Gover, Linda LaTendresse, Hak Lee, Jolene Sedita, Rosie Lariz-Rodriguez
