MF Disposition Process • MF Program Office maintains survey approval authority • Released Naval message DTG 241916Z OCT 07 • Fleet requests MF disposition instructions • Send pictures as requested by MF Program Office • Addresses “Cradle-to-Grave” life cycle logistical support • Previous posture was “Cradle-to-Undertaker” • Alleviates eye sore & MFs that are linked back to active program • Survey an average of ~75 MFs per year

MF Disposition Process • Requires DRMO disposal via DD Form 1348-1A • Hold on Fleet MFTool—until receipt of DD Form • Request DD Form NLT 60 days after receipt of survey message • Better survey markings—RED six-inch lettering • Do not authorize retention of surveyed assets • Retention requires ASL-34 (USMC) or CNAF/R (USN) message approval • Too much time, funds & energy spent on surveyed MFs

Current Actions • Fleet needs to establish bonafide requirements—vice having a surveyed Avionics classroom, request to have a classroom / conference room added to TBA • MF Program Office—automatic survey of all surplus/excess MFs, which start with serial number series GRT, GTG, JKS or JMJ. Address KZT series on case-by-case basis: • Smaller size end doors 48 ½” vice 49 ½” –new butting kits don’t fit • Five hinge doors • MFs are 30+ years old • Most that arrive back at MFCS are surveyed anyway
