IAW REF D, THE CURRENT INSPECTION AND LUBRICATION PROCEDURES ARE CLEARLY DELINEATED, BUT PERIODIC EXTERNAL WASHING AND CLEANING OF MF'S IS OMITTED. 2.  A SUCCESSFUL CLEANING AND CORROSION PREVENTION PROGRAM IS A RESULT OF A CONCENTRATED EFFORT BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL INVOLVED WITH MF'S. AN ORGANIZED AND VIGILANT PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE EFFORT WILL ACCOMPLISH THREE OBJECTIVES: REDUCE MAINTENANCE TIME SPENT REPAIRING CORROSION DAMAGE, REDUCE THE NUMBER OF MAINTENANCE ACTIONS, AND INCREASE MF LONGEVITY. EXTERNAL WASHING OF MF'S HELPS ELIMINATE ACCUMULATION OF DIRT, SALT, OIL AND OTHER CONTAMINANTS THAT CAUSE OR PROMOTE CORROSION. 3.  EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY ALL MF USER ACTIVITIES WILL PERFORM MF EXTERIOR WASH PROCEDURES EVERY FORTY-FIVE (45) DAYS.
