This workshop focuses on developing student writing abilities through targeted mini-lessons and independent practice. Sessions typically last 5-15 minutes and emphasize teaching specific writing concepts, strategies, and techniques using mentor texts. Students are prompted to explore various genres while engaging in prewriting, drafting, revising, and publishing activities. The structure includes shared writing sessions and individual conferring to provide tailored feedback. Goal-setting and anecdotal records help track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly, fostering a supportive literacy environment.
