On-line Service Provider • OSP decide how you will view the Internet. • They choose the software you will use to access the Internet and the content you will view on the Internet. • OSP download the files they want you to view. • They do provide parental controls if you have children surfing the Internet. • You are subjected to much advertising.

  15. ADVANTEGES easy to use can offer a World Wide Web Page provides consumer content DISADVANTEGES slow lane - first you dial into the on-line provider’s system. OSP may not provide access to all parts of the Internet. On-Line Service Providers

Internet Service Providers • The ISP does not decide how you will view the Internet. • They do not choose the the content you will view on the Internet. • You are on your own to seek out what the Internet has to offer. • ISP gives you freedom to access everything on the Internet without advertising clutter.
