  1. Pathfinder Activity • design, implement and test a Path Finder module for the Inter Domain Manager, starting the from functional specification of DJ3.3.2 • The main task of the Pathfinder module in the IDM is to provide a (list of) candidate path to fulfil BoD requests • The operation is a chained model of co-operating domains

  2. Pathfinder activityDecisions made • Start with an OSPF-based signalling and routing protocol with Traffic Engineering extensions • use an abstract network topology and a set of parameters for each inter-domain link • implement a separate routing module to perform a Constraint-based SPF computation • start with the QUAGGA OSPFv2 implementation as base adding custom defined Opaque LSAs to accommodate the parameters needed for inter-domain path finding. and adding a CSPF algorithm (instead of the existing SPF)

  3. Pathfinder activityImplementation & Testing • separately implement signaling and routing • start with point-like domain s (no internal network topology disclosed, just the external links) • use pruning passes to simplify the network topology for each request (e.g. prune links with unsufficient capacity) • start with QUAGGA • Testing • - start in a lab • - scaling issues
