ASL Glossing and Structure • When signing “ TOMORROW you JOIN me?” you sign the join away from your body to gesture to the person you are talking about and then point to yourself • There is a difference between ASL and English language • EX: • ASL: I WANT INTRODUCE MY FRIEND • English: I want to introduce you to my friend.

Documentary: for a deaf son • ASL is a deaf persons own language but they can be encouraged to use English • Until early 1970s sign language was forbidden in schools • People who were deaf in that time feel they have been cheated out of a good education
