Where we started: • Implemented a new curriculum in 2005 • Implemented a course & lecturer evaluation process in 2005 • Items based on Senate’s Teaching and Learning Contract • Paper-based • Results administration a lengthy process, undermined formative evaluation • Placed same evaluation on Vula in 2009 • Results administration greatly improved • Lecturers and teaching still evaluated by naïve evaluators • Improvements in teaching practice not taken into account

Where we are going now: • Using our programme evaluation knowledge • Evaluand: course and lecturer • Outcomes, indicators and standards • Beneficiaries of our teaching not included here; processes for identifying students at risk • Suki to present the process she will use to put a new course and lecturer evaluation together • multiple indicators • multiple evaluators • reflect continuous professional development of teaching staff
