  2. Light in the Lord 1 John 1:5This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. We have heard from Him --- the message (We) announce to you --- the message heard is “akouo” – to hear (in the perfect tense) announce is “anangello” – to report, bring back tidings message is “angelia” – message, proclamation

God is Light is “eimi” – the state in which someone or something continuously exists Light is “phos” – from the word to give light Light describes God’s Holiness glory of God – 1Tim 6:16 impartiality of God – James 1:17

  10. Light in the Lord 1 Thessalonians 5:4But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; you are not in darkness darkness-skótos - spiritual darkness, implying ignorance or error see the following: John 8:12, John 12:46 and 1 John 1:5 sons of light and sons of days vs sons of darkness and sons of night
