The Letter of St. Paul to the Romans • When and where was it written? 15:23-27 At the end of his third journey, 57 A.D., at Corinth • What was the occasion? 15:23-27 Finished his work (Asia, Macedonia & Greece) & couldn’t go to Rome because he was heading to Jerusalem • What was the purpose? 1:13-15 • Prepare the way for his coming visit to Rome • Present the basic Gospel to a church that had not received the teaching of an apostle before • What is the theme? 1:16-17 God’s plan of Salvation & Righteousness for all mankind • What is the structure? • Doctrine 1-11 • Practice 12-16
