  2. What isEarth Day What is Earth Day? • Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. worldwide. Various events are held to demonstrate support for enviromental protection. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day events in more than 193 countries are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network.

  3. Earth Day People all over the world come together and organise fundraising events such as festivals,concerts,parades,competitions and other events to raise money for environmental campaigns. Earth Day helps give people information about problems such as climate change and tell us what we can all do to help make the word better place to live. Various organizations send the alarm about environment. United Nations Environmental Programme and Greenpeace are well known organizations for environmental problems.

  4. What do we do in school together with “The school environmental group”? Our school always organizes educational activities and recycling projects. Every day we; - pick up litter in the clasroom and school yard, - collect paper in “Papirko” and paper bins to be recycled, - collect plastic bottles for hungry children in Africa, - collect old batteries for recycling centers, - have bird- houses, bird- feeders, home for insects, - have compost bin in our school garden.

ACTIVITIES WE CAN DO TO PROTECT THE PLANET EARTH - save water - recycle rubbish - turn off the lights when we leave a room - save energy - put paper in the recycle bin - take short showers - collect plastic bottles to be recycled and donate money for hungry children in Africa - plant trees and flowers - ride a bike or walk - turn off the computer when we're finished - pick up trash - protect animals - use eco-friendly products - make compost piles - use reusable bags - protect old monuments - donate old clothes - clean us, our clothes, our home, our school, our surroundings - clean up beaches - tell others not to throw rubbish - make something of recycled material - separate rubbish and put it into recycling bins to be recycled
