FROM THE DESK IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY There was a point in my life when I was a huge fan of absurdism and writers like Kafka, Beckett and Albert Camus sucked the majority of my pocket money. Then I grew up and realised that real life was way more absurd than what these writers won top awards for. However, of late I’ve started to walk back to their turf with some maturity, and there is something absolutely new, very cruelly humorous that lies folded within their words. For instance, Camus’ announcement that nothing is more despicable than respect based on fear. Simple words but really pungent. We’re not ashamed to admit that we love women but that doesn’t justify turning sadistic in our treatment towards them. The brainless need to demand respect by condescending tools like male chauvinism and patronising handling of situations does not earn ‘that,’ but only anger and rejection. Respect is an underwhelming reality in our times, way more important than love. Be it towards the fairer sex, people at our workspace, the animal kingdom or even environment, a mutual sharing of PRODUCTION/CIRCULATION the feeling is an absolute must for an undisturbed survival. The current issue is a special one, for it celebrates and redefines the word sexy (p.47). After a spell of dominance shared between our two favourite women, Deepika and Katrina, finally a third has emerged victorious on the top – Jacqueline Fernandes, the sexiest woman in the world 2016. While I was complimenting her for the title, Jacky confessed that she never saw herself like this sexy woman who made millions of men sigh in helplessness, nor ever tried to build such an image. But now that she has acquired (I’d say, earned) it, she accepts it with grace and enjoys the accolades. That’s the new age tackling of the sexy... no hullabaloo, no fuss, just a graceful acknowledgement of being in charge. That’s how we like it too. As the television’s favourite girl, have you ever thought of getting into Bollywood? I would love to do that. I am very lucky to have had such an amazing journey in the TV industry so far and as long as I get to be in front of the camera, doing good work, that’s all that matters. Is that the reason for the extra ‘L’ in the name? Absolutely! I believe that when things go right we don’t look for anything else, but it’s when things get a bit shaky we tend to look for something to lean on that can make them right. I only believe that as long as you don’t hurt anyone, it’s OK to have these beliefs. And I do believe that things have got better since I have added the extra ‘L’ in my name. You’ve transformed a lot. What’s the fitness secret? A strict diet and a regular exercise regime (haha). You know, it’s about changing your lifestyle as a whole. I strictly say no to junk food and my food has more protein and less carbs. And hitting the gym helps for sure.
IF I’M CONVINCED ABOUT SOMETHING, YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT HOW SOON I CAN EXECUTE IT. What quirky habit do you have? Being too spontaneous in life, I think. If I’m convinced about something, you will be surprised at how soon I can execute it. And what’s that one habit you’d like to get rid of? Trusting people too quickly, may be! It’s so important to take a step back and take time to understand people. Do you like the idea of drunk dialling? Who would be the person you’d call?Oh, absolutely! I think I’d call my best friends and blabber everything they already know (haha). I know they will have a patient ear for me even if I’m repeating my gossip to them. What do you think you look sexiest in? Isn’t it better to ask the guys around me? And make sure that ayou tell me what they feel!

Tell us more about yourself, something that, maybe, not many people know. One thing that nobody, apart from my family knows about me is that I’m a big time foodie (haha). Being a foodie and a model at the same time don’t go hand in hand but I just can’t help it. I’ve been this way since childhood. I love food and I love to go out to new places to try out new cuisines.
