Bake Sale • Linda Skou - Secretary • DATE: Wed., Sept 21th • TIME: 8:30 - 14:00 • Logistics • Put brief description of baked good on sheet of paper attached to item • Bring small country flags (toothpick size) • Bring items BY 8AM • Put name and contact info on all serving platters and serving utensils • Pick up platters by 13:30 • All platters not picked up will be brought to next meeting

  5. Tombola Heads UpRobbin Warner - Bazaar and Tombola Coordinator • List of prizes - submissions by 20 Sept. • Tombola tickets distributed and lottery for ticket sales - General Assembly Meeting 22 Sept. • Ticket sales begin - 10 Oct.

Tombola Heads UpRobbin Warner Bazaar & Tombola Coordinator • Tombola - a giant raffle. • Tickets price: 2.5 euros • Prizes - all nations supply at least two prizes with a 100 euro value each. • Ticket Sales - All nations sell tickets • Winners - The winners are drawn at the Bazaar. • List of prizes - due by 20 Sept. • Tombola tickets distributed and lottery for ticket sales - General Assembly Meeting 22 Sept. • Ticket sales begin - 10 Oct.

  7. Tombola Prizes • 2 Prizes per nation • 100 euro value per prize • Provide list of prizes by20 September

  8. Submitting Prize List • DUE DATE: Email list by 20 September to tombola@natocharitybazaar.org • TEMPLATE: Use file in Members Only area: “TEMPLATE: Prize Description” • NAMING FILE: Rename file with your country in file name: “USA-Tombola Prize List”

  9. Ticket Sales • You sell as many tickets as you can. • We arrange use of the Press Corridor in front of the ING Bank at NATO HQ for ticket sales

  10. 2011 Tombola Ticket Sales Dates • October: 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 31 • November: 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17

Charity Selection Overview • No new criteria added for 2011. • Criteria • Complete requests. • The charity MUST be a officially registered, not for profit organization, (registered ASBL, VZW etc). • Charities/organizations which had not received funding yet, OR if they had previously received funds from a specific Bazaar, had not reapplied for further funding until two subsequent Bazaars had taken place, or three calender years from the initial application. • Small organizations /charities especially if voluntary based. Not a major global charity

  13. Charity Selection Overview • Criteria (continued) • Small specific projects – preferably ones which could be completed with the set amount, within a year. Additionally those covering the widest spectrum of the community. • Projects which, when completed should have a long term impact and be of benefit to as many people as possible). • NATO countries, NATO PfP countries, and countries where NATO is currently engaged for example in Afghanistan – but without excluding projects from other locations. • Staff salaries and administration costs, as a general rule, would not be supported.

  14. RESULTS • RESULTS: Results will be announced at the 22 September meeting • TIE: In the event of a tie, any necessary re-voting will be done at the 22 September meeting

  15. Voting Process • Ballots are in your meeting folder: Belgian Charities Ballot and International Charities Ballot • Nation name is on each page of each ballot • International Ballot is 3 pages long

  16. EXAMPLE Categories: Place each charity into one of three categories: 1st choice, 2nd choice, or 3rd choice. Every charity must be ranked: If a charity on a ballot is not ranked, it will automatically become a 3rd choice.

  17. Presentation Order: • Belgian Charities then International Charities. • Charities presented in alphabetical order. • Briefing Book page displayed on screen • Members invited to provide 1-2 minute support statements

  18. EXAMPLE • Mark your ballot as we go along • Time to confer with your delegation before submitting your final ballot • Ballots will be collected for Belgian Charities before beginning discussion of International Charities

INVITATION NATO Charity Bazaar Patron Mrs. Anne-Mette Rasmussen invites all NCB Members to Fundraising Art Auction & Book Signing Monday, 10 October at 17h00 at the NATO Staff Center Program • Mrs. Britt Salver will presents 50 acrylic paintings on canvas all titled THINKING. The paintings will be auctioned. • Anne-Cathrine Riebnitzsky will speak about her bestselling book Kvindernes krig (The Woman’s War) Cocktail- Champagne - Canapé Proceeds will go to the NATO Charity Bazaar and Afghan Charities
