  3. Build II Update • EXITO received funding for another 5 years • All 10 BUILD sites were selected for refunding • More BUILD training and support opportunities for students + faculty • Priorities will be a bit different this time around

EXITO Financial Support TimelinePSU Cohort 3 60% tuition and fees remission* & $1,090 monthly stipend (2 terms) Up to $1,000 Orientation Hourly Pay Up to$1,800 Scientific Conference Travel No direct financial support BUILD I Ends CommColl Scholars transfer to PSU PY 2 (2018-2019) RLC PY 3 (2019-2020) RLC PY 1 (2017-2018) Gateway Sum 3 Sum 2 Sum 1 BUILD II Begins You Are Here 60% tuition and fees remission* & $1,070 monthly stipend (3 terms) Up to $4,050 Immersion Hourly Pay Up to $1,200 Induction Hourly Pay *Tuition and fees remission is calculated based on the resident rate for 12 credits. Scholars with non-resident status will receive a remission at the rate of 60% of 1.5 times the resident rate

  5. Immersion: Hourly compensation • $13.50/hr • 250 RLC hrs; 50 workshop hrs • Up to $4,050 hourly compensation (before taxes) • Payment for hrs reported thru online Banweb system

  6. Immersion: Banweb Timesheets • RLC hours • Workshop hours • Make up workshop hours • Sick leave • Notify RLC staff • Email exito@pdx.edu on day leave is taken

  8. Immersion: expectations • Do not exceed 250 RLC hrs • Track your hours • Status update with RLC mentor and PI

  9. Immersion: Reminders • 40 hr work week • Take breaks • No holiday compensation (i.e., don’t work on Labor Day) • Must be enrolled full time for Fall 2019

  11. AY 19-20: Financial Support • 2 (Fall & Winter) tuition/fee remission (12 credits @ 60%) • 6 Monthly stipends, $1090/mo (Sept – Feb) • No scientific conference travel • WUE tuition discount
