Data Collection • The MyCareer@VA team starts with data such as: • Vacancy announcements • O*NET • HR transactional data/HRIS • Existing competency information • The VA POC provides additional position descriptions (PDs), functional statements, and any other relevant information • Develop a preliminary list of possible jobs for inclusion in the tools based on available data • If we have any questions about the jobs and/or career levels, we may need to schedule a follow-up call to discuss the data

Pre Brief • One-hour WebEx/Conference Call with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from occupational family • Demo MyCareer@VA website (Fit Tool, Mapping Tool, Career Guides) • Review jobs in occupational family • Describe purpose of workshop and workshop methodology and terminology • Discuss job profile elements • Discuss logistics of workshop and next steps

Workshop • Goal: To validate and further refine the content needed to populate the career tools for your occupational family • One or two-day, in-person workshop to work through the data and terminology that will be included with jobs and career levels on the website • 2-3 subject matter experts per job • Typically in Arlington, VA • Travel funded by VALU

Post Workshop • Produce Report from workshop (1 week post-workshop) • SMEs complete review of report (2 weeks post-workshop) • Incorporate SME feedback/produce final report (3 weeks post-workshop) • Conduct final review meeting with POC (3-4 weeks post-workshop) • Confirm that the data is final and may be submitted for posting on the MyCareer@VA website
