  6. IB Requirements • Grades 11 and 12 only • 6 IB courses: 3 HL (higher level) 3 SL (standard level) OR: 4 HL 2 SL • TOK course (Theory of Knowledge) • Extended Essay • CAS (Creativity, Action, Service)

Key Terminology • HL = higher level; a 2-year course • SL = standard level; a 1-year course • TOK = theory of knowledge; a critical thinking course in epistemology, relates the 6 IB courses together • CAS = creativity, action, service; experiential learning outside the classroom, done over grades 11 & 12

  13. Recommendations • Fit health, government, economics, and P.E. into 9th & 10th grades. • Decide where/how you’re going to do the extra 0.5 of science (biology, chemistry, or physics).

  14. How to fit in the science • Take 2 IB sciences if you enjoy science. • Check out course possibilities at KVCC or online (both at a cost to you) via your counselor.

  15. Four-year IB Educational Development Plan • Work out your own DP plan for grades 11 & 12 using the form provided. • Turn in completed plan to the counseling office by: Friday, March 13!
