After only a couple of years, the company had started to expand it’s educational services beyond placement of students in universities, which led to it’s first overseas branch office being set up in the Solomon Islands to assist the government in the improvement of it’s education system. With OIEC’s extensive international links we also place students in universities across Asia including Malaysia, Singapore and China.

  7. OIEC – Quality Assurance Services The incredible growth of the Education Industry across Asia has brought with it some challenges for institutes wishing to take advantage of this growth, whilst continuing to give their students a quality education. Globalisation has made education more affordable for students wishing to study overseas and in their home country, whilst the wages of lecturers and support staff have increased. For Colleges and Universities this means to maintain profitability, at the same time as improving education standards, they have had to look at efficiency and marketing to remain competitive. OIEC’s Quality Assurance Service covers all aspects of running an Educational Institute. • Some of the Areas OIEC provide quality assurance to education institutes for are: • Management Systems • Student Assessment and Grading Systems • Continuous Professional Development • Marketing Departments • Advertising Campaigns • Performance of Lecturers • Performance of Administration Departments • Curriculum Implementation and Development • Staff Assessment • Student Grading and Fast-track study programs • Accounting and Internal Auditing Systems • Student Database and Registrar Services • Accreditation Process and CID Processes

OIEC – Curriculum Development With it’s extensive international links OIEC has helped many schools, colleges and universities in developing or expanding their curricula and training programs, to give the institutes better student results and a more international image. Many schools across Asia are now using the Cambridge Exam Qualifications as these allow students the opportunity to study anywhere in the world upon successful completion. The O-Level, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and A/S Level curricula present challenges to the administration, marketing, teaching and management of schools and OIEC has helped a large number of schools adjust their systems and practices, to successfully introduce the Cambridge Certification to their schools.

  10. 11. Teacher Training T E F L N S eaching The OIEC TEFLNS Training program has proven to be one of the most successful courses we have provided. The simplified reason for this is that it delivers exactly the right type of training needed by English (ESL) Teachers around the world. It meets the challenges faced by ESL Teachers and gives them new methods in presenting subject material, managing the classroom environment and creating highly communicative Language Classes . As an example in Indonesia TEFLNS training was commenced in June 2008 and now by the end of 2009 over 3,000 teachers will have partook in the training program in 3 provinces across the country. The Indonesian Education Department plans to continue the training for at least another 4 years and will expand the program to cover more of the 33 provinces that make up the country. nglishas a oreign anguageby on-native peakers

  12. Teacher Training T E F L N S The TEFLNS Training Program gives attendees the necessary Knowledge, Skills and Understanding to teach highly communicative and productive classes. Emphasis is put on keeping Theoretical Teaching to a minimum giving maximum attention to practical application and examples of application within the classroom. The attendees feedback on the training after completing all the modules has been remarkably positive with comments from attendees as well as written feedback proving that TEFLNS training is what every ESL teacher needs to improve classroom results. Over 98% of TEFLNS attendees have responded in the post training questionnaire saying - “They would like to receive further training from OIEC based on the TEFLNS Theories in teaching” Over 99% of TEFLNS attendees have responded in the post training questionnaire saying - “They will use what they have learnt in the training immediately in their own English Classes”

  13. Teacher Training T E F L N S TEFLNS Modules – • The “Adult” Learner • Language Acquisition • Classroom Management • Lesson Planning • Teaching Practical • Assessment • Language Analysis • Communication • Lesson Presentation

  14. Teacher Training I T T C The OIEC ITTC Training program continues on from the success of the TEFLNS program, and takes approximately 70 % of the modules and adjusts them to fit generic teaching practices and subjects. The aim of the ITTC program is to train teachers in more effective and communicative teaching practices, placing the emphasis on students learning in class rather than being taught. As all students learn more when they enjoy a class and can participate, the training gives attendees new and improved methods to make lessons more student focused rather than teacher focused. This places the responsibility on students to learn, whilst the teacher controls the classroom environment, as opposed to the traditional memorising of facts and figures given by teachers and regurgitating the information for exams nternational eacher raining ertificate

  15. Teacher Training I T T C ITTC Modules – • The Pre Adolescent and Adolescent Learner • Acquisition of Knowledge and Skills • Classroom Management • Lesson Planning • Teaching Practical • Assessment • Subject Specific Analysis • Communication • Lesson Presentation

  16. OIEC Native Teacher Supply For a number of years now OIEC have been supplying Native Teachers (Teachers whose first language is English) to Schools, Colleges and Universities. All of OIEC’s Teachers have undergone the OIEC Training Program and have been selected for not only their experience but also for their dedication to teaching, personality type and success with students. As with any language, English has some special nuances such as speech patterns, pronunciation, accents, idioms, slang, syntactical changes of meaning and variations that makes it difficult for anyone that is not a Native Speaker of the language to fully and effectively teach. But for students and in fact even the education institutes there are even more benefits than merely the effectiveness of teaching the language itself. • When OIEC supply Native Teachers to an Educational Institute the following benefits are seen by the owners/stakeholders; • A more international image • Improved exam results from students • An increased interest in English by the local teachers and staff • Increased enrolment of new students • Accreditation Level from the education department may increase • The opportunity to increase school fees for monthly payment and enrolment fees (This has occurred at most schools supplied) • When OIEC supply Native Teachers to an Educational Institute the following benefits are seen in the classroom; • Students enjoy their English lessons more • Students are more willing to participate (including the shy ones) • Students’ pronunciation of English improves • Students’ conversation skills improve • Students’ listening skills improve • Students’ comprehension skills improve • Students become more motivated to learn English outside the classroom • Students are proud of their School and English Classes having a Native Teacher

  17. Corporate Training LANGUAGE OIEC’s Corporate Language training programs focus on the skills needed by the individual and company. This allows student to see results far more quickly than general language courses. There are a number of focused skills courses for language training that OIEC have developed.
