  1. Oxford EMS News 16 February 2006 • A new container for cardboard recycling will soon be placed outside near the trash dumpster. Please recycle your cardboard boxes. (Scott and David will still remove the boxes from the various "drop sites" around the building). • Scott is pricing small containers/bins to be placed in offices for paper recycling (for those who do not already have one). • Scott is also working on purchasing additional bins for glass, aluminum, and plastic recycling to be placed at several locations within the main lab building. • Mercury light bulbs are gradually being replaced. Currently, about half of the 1600 light bulbs are mercury-free. • There is an effort to replace cleaning supplies with more “environmentally friendly" chemicals (that are not more toxic/irritating than the originals). Staff suggestions are welcome. • Staff are reminded that the purchase of any chemical not already on the chemical inventory must be approved. Steve is working to better formalize this procedure for State employees. • Printer defaults have been set to automatically print as 2-sided copies.
