  2. What makes a good plan? • A great plan is one that works out and leads to the expected results. • Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to know whether it is a ‘great plan’ in advance! • Analyse, analyse and analyse

  3. Knowing your SWOT • Strengths • Weaknesses • Opportunities • Threats • Increases chance of developing a good plan

  4. Threats / Challenges • What are the challenges that the world is facing today? • Who are the players? • Why are they players?

The MDGs Achieve universal primary education Promote gender equality and empower women Reduce child mortality Improve maternal health • Eradicate Poverty and Hunger • Develop a global partnership for development • Ensure environmental sustainability • Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases

  7. We have been successful • Over the last 50 years the human population has nearly tripled • people are living longer than ever before • better maternal care • better medical facilities • better living conditions • more money (faster) to spend (faster)!
