  5. Lesson One—Articulation of Purpose Teachers view us as holding Mexican students in our hands. “I am glad you are on the front lines when we send you our children. Hold them close and take care of them.” --2nd grade teacher

  7. Partnerships to answer this calling. • Create a Latino Parents’ Advisory Council to work with the schools on meeting the needs of Latino students • Work with community groups/HCC to offer Spanish language coursework for teachers • Consider naming programs using Spanish phrasing

Action Steps— Consider International Baccalaureate Programmes Mission StatementThe International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. http://www.ibo.org
