  2. Shakespeare’s childhood • Born in Stratford-Upon-Avon on April 26, 1564 • Father was prosecuted when he was a little boy • Father’s name was John Shakespeare; Mom’s name was Mary Shakespeare • He had 7 brothers and sisters

  3. Globe theatre • Built in 1599 in London, England • Burned down in 1613 (fire caused by actors) • Rebuilt in 1999

  4. Elizabeth era • Died at age 70 • Last monarch of Tudor dynasty • Only child of Henry VIII • Taught by the best • Had a baby but it died
