  2. Main Theme: The Human-Natural Resource Interface: Reconciling Conflicting Trade-offs? The Southern African Wildlife Management Association invites contributions from management and research related to the main theme. We hope that this theme will lead to a better understanding of the complex interface between humans, renewable natural resources (with the main focus on wildlife) and ecosystems. Submissions addressing ecological and socio-economic issues and other challenges dealing with human-natural resource interaction for both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems will be welcomed. Efforts will be made to accommodate all contributions related to the main theme, but should a larger number of topics be received, presentations will be selected on the basis of relevance to the sub-themes offered. Paper and poster titles and abstracts Platform presentations will allow 15 minutes presentation and 5 minutes questions/discussion. Posters will be presented during a poster session in the form of a poster display and informal discussion. A short abstract for both papers and posters (about 300 - 350 words) should be submitted. Deadlines Paper and poster titles should be submitted by 31 May 2011. Abstracts should be submitted as soon as possible after 31 May, but not later than 30 June 2011. Please submit titles and abstracts electronically to Elma Marais (e-mail address: elma@mweb.co.za) Registration information and costs More information on registration fees and accommodation will soon be available.
