  2. What the Holy Spirit Revealed • If we listen carefully to God's wisdom • Make necessary adjustments to our character, values, motivations: • We will never be the same! • We will become all we hope and dream! • A busy, productive successful Christian.

Summation of God’s Promises • Busy, productive fruitful servant! • See things never seen before. • What you already know will be much clearer. • All God called us to do and all God elected us to be will be firmly established. • Things that have caused us to slip and fall will be removed forever. • Never again will we be close to falling away. • A place in heaven is guaranteed

  4. Am I Seeing or Offering too Much? You be the JUDGE!!! 2 Pet 1:8-11 • They make you to be not idle nor unfruitful :8 • He that lacks: Blind, seeing only what is near :9 • Make your calling and election sure :10 • If you do these things, ye shall never stumble :10 • Entrance into eternal kingdom richly supplied :11

Verse 8: “Ours” and “Abound” • Not usual word for “being” like “is” or “are” • “hup-archo... 1. to begin below to make a beginning;... to be there, be ready, be at hand... something is mine, I have something... 2Pet. 1:8 ...” (Thayer p. 638; 5225) • The degree or level of Possession: • Not just being aware of them. • Not just hearing them in a lesson every few years. • “pleonazo... used of one possessing, superabound ...to have over... to exist in abundance ... R.V. be multiplied...” (Thayer, p. 516; 4121)

Verse 8: “Make you to Be” • “kathistemi... to set, place, put... a. to set one over a thing... b ...to appoint one to administer an office... d. to constitute... to render, make, cause to be...” (Thayer, p. 314; 2525) • Mt 25:21 Talents: I will make you ruler • Titus 1:5 Appoint elders in every city. • God will set, place, and put us. God will appoint, render, make, cause to be.

With “these things” “honor” & “useful” • But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 2Tim. 2:20-22 • We will be busy and fruitful because we are a vessel unto honor!

  10. Verse 9: Blind and Near Sighted • “pareimi ... a. to be by, be at hand, to have arrived, to be present: .... b. to be ready, in store, at command:... (Thayer ; 3918) • NOT • Won’t see the unseen, 2 Cor 4:16-18 • Won’t be a stranger/pilgrim Heb 11:9-10; 13-17 • Won’t feel like a citizen of heaven Phil 3:20-21 • Miss the best of life if we can’t see these things.

  11. Verse 10. Calling / Election made sure. • All God called us to become and elected us to be. • Rom 8:28-33 • Calling and election - A process begun in eternity, and brought to each of us by hearing the gospel. II Th 2:13-14; Eph 1:4-5 • The gospel call screens out all but the very best that’s why we are the elect! • 1 Cor 1:26-28; Eph 1:18

  12. Never Stumble • God promised to keep us safe. • When we work hard, he promises to work hard. • Phil 3:15-16 God will reveal • 1 Cor 10:13 make the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure. • John 10:27-29 no one can snatch them.

  13. Entrance Abundantly Supplied • Matt 7:13-14 the narrow gate: • Luke 13:23-24 the narrow door: • Phil 2:12 12 work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

All this is promised to those who • Add to our faith! • God’s people have always been an adding to your faith people! • Jas 2 – Faith without works is dead! • Ecc. 9:10 What ever your hand finds to do – do it with your might! • Phil 3:1-19 – One thing I do – Forget what lies behind – press on to the goal of the upward call!
