  • A call forFaith
    • Promises call for Faith
  • What isFaith?
    • Rom.4:18-21“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak infaith, he considered not his own body nowdead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuadedthat, what He had promised, He wasable also to perform.”

  • To get on the boat would require:
    • Against hope believing in hope.
    • Considering not that it was impossible.
    • Being fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.
  • Gen.2:5-6“And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the earth.”

  • He had to convince others to get on the boat.
    • 2Pet.2:5“And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;”
  • He had to build the boat
    • Gen.6:14-16“Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breath of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.”
  • He had to put Animals & food on the boat
    • Gen.6:19-21 “And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.”
  • He Staggered not at the Promise through unbelief
    • Gen.6:22 “Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”

  • Heb. 11:7“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
  • If Noah Failed to:
    • Be a preacher of Righteousness
    • Build the Boat
    • Put animals & Food on the Boat
  • A Lack ofFaith

    • They had to act.
    • They had to physically Get on the Boat.

  • Having Faith in Christ requires:
    • Against hope believing in hope.

  • Believing in our heart leads to obeying the gospel (action)
  • Rom.1:5“By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name;”
  • Rom.1:16“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth…”
  • 1Cor.15:1-4“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which Ipreached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures;”
