Since Fall 2008, Joe Stanco and Gaelen Hadlett have transformed Brooklyn's classrooms with innovative engineering programs. Starting at PS 230 and expanding to PS 24, they engage about a dozen 4th graders each semester through hands-on projects powered by volunteers and faculty. Students explore robotics, create interactive creatures, and experiment with musical instruments. They delve into video game design using MIT Scratch, developing original games while fostering collaborative problem-solving. This initiative ignites creativity and technical skills essential for the future.
