Bob Marley wanted to make Jamaica a better place as a whole and for the people living there They felt that his music helped them, capturing all aspects of Jamaica in his songs He became popular at a time where Jamaica was in political turmoil; the people looked to him for inspiration and hope He just wanted to make Jamaica better and took over as their representative Jamaica

  3. Bob Marley’s song, “Get Up, Stand Up” became an anthem for a lot of third world countries. They believed that the song was telling them to get up and fight the oppressors. “Get Up, Stand Up” Preacher man don’t tell me heaven is under the earth/ I know you don’t know what life is really worth/ Is not all that glitters in gold and/ Half the story has never been told/ So now you see the light, aay/ Stand up for your right. Come on/…Most people think great God will come from the sky/ Take away ev’rything, and make ev’rything feel high/ But if you don’t know what life is worth/ You would look for yours on earth/ And now you see the light/ You stand up for your right, yeah!/… Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right/ Get Up, Stand Up, don’t give up the fight/ Get Up, Stand Up. According to Eric Clapton, “I walked into this dressing room that I couldn’t see the other side of for the smoke… I sat and talked with Bob, and he was just a great guy. He was so warm. A beautiful man. He was serious about what he was doing, but was very gentle.” Many people all over the world admired and respected Bob Marley OTHER MUSICIANS

  10. Bob Marley always promoted peace above all else. He threw a free concert in Jamaica, was invited to the United Nations in New York to receive the Medal of Peace, was invited by the governor of Zimbabwe to play an Independent Ceremony- which was the greatest honour and it showed their importance Also, in Jamaica, they were given the Order of Merit which is the third Peace

  11. highest honour for their contribution to Jamaican culture Performed at a concert called, One Love Peace Concert, which was for the Prime Minister at the time Peace

  12. While in London, England on tour, Bob Marley was playing football/ soccer, he injured his toe. He went to the doctors who did not do a good job on his Toe. Eventually, the toe became cancerous and the doctors told him that the only way to stop the cancer is to have the toe amputated. (According to the Rastafarian faith, amputation is forbidden.) Bob Marley did nothing about his BOB MARLEY’S DEATH

  13. toe. Later on while he was walking he felt faint and went back to the doctors who told him that the cancer had spread all over his body and that he was going to die. Bob Marley Always referred to the doctors as practicing “witchcraft.” Bob Marley did not want to die in the United States. According to Bob Marley, “ BOB MARLEY’S DEATH
