  1. CSHRS was founded in 2003 at Indiana State University by Dr. Thomas Johnson and Dr. Jean Kristeller with the support of the Metanexus Institute. • 2006 – Identified as a Center of Regional Distinction by ISU Laying the Foundations

The Center for the Study of Health, Religion, and Spirituality (CSHRS) established as a collaborative partnership of academics, researchers, and practitioners to promote dialogue, scholarship, and service regarding the interrelationships between the domains of health, religion, and spirituality. Mission

  3. To examine these relationships within a framework that encourages and values the contributions of interdisciplinary commentary and scholarship • To engage in cutting edge research that generates external funding and further research • To translate acquired knowledge into innovative programs and services to the wider community (i.e., interfaith dialogue, pastoral counseling, support services for loss/trauma, etc.) The purpose of the Center is threefold:
