  7. Management of the California Annual Grassland • 1. Stock moderately ( 50% use) • 2. Provide protein supplements in summer and fall • 3. Continuous grazing has worked best • 4. Nitrogen and sulfur fertilization can be effective • 5. Apply common use grazing, goats can be effective in controlling brush • 6. Burn to control brush and reseed with perennial grasses and legumes • 7. Guzzlers effective improving quail populations
