Morse • Genealogist who liked doing research from comfort of home, but frustrated as: • Sites had different ways to use them • Frequently required accessing multiple databases • Frequently had multiple steps to get results • Initially developed tool on Ellis Island Database • Called tool “One Step” as tool could make desired query in one step. • Once branded as the “One Step Webpage,” he developed tools to access other databases using the same methodology.

Early Beginnings • First tool developed was for the white form for searching the Ellis Island databases • Released to the public in 2001 shortly after the Ellis Island database was put on line • Tool was expanded to support other colored forms • Next project was the 1930 Census • Now he supports searches through many databases using one step technology
