  3. N.O.C UNIT REQUIREMENTS • FICTIONAL NOVEL YOU HAVE NOT READ FROM THE TAYSHAS READING LIST 2012-2013 • AT LEAST 150 PAGES (if you finish too quick, you will be required to choose a second book) • MUST HAVE IN CLASS EVERY DAY

  4. N.O.C. UNIT GRADES • Daily Grade (6): You will receive a daily grade for each day of SSR (Silent Sustained Reading). If you don’t bring your book, you will receive a “0” for that day. Each time you must be reminded to stay on track (sleeping/talking/not reading, etc) you will have 10 points deducted from that day’s grade • Quiz Grade #1: Once you have reached the ½ way point in your novel, you must complete the Story Comprehension Sheet (inside packet) MUST BE COMPLETED IN CLASS (Before 1/13) • Quiz Grade #2: You must complete 10 reading journals (in packet) while reading your novel (6 in class/4 at home) Choose a different prompt each time and use all of the provided lines in the packet. (Due 1/17) • Quiz Grade #3: You must complete the Book Report Written Rough Draft form (in packet) as the pre-writing for your Major Book Report (In class 1/18) • Test Grade #1: You will type the final draft of your five paragraph (six if you are reading a book that has a movie adaptation) book report using the required provided format (using written rough draft) (Due 1/20 HARD COPY in class AND submitted to Turnitin.com by 11:59pm) • Test Grade #2: You will choose one activity to complete from each of the following 6 categories: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation (a total of 6 activities). All activities must be typed and drawn in color and each should fit on the front of an 8 ½ x 11” page. (Due 1/23 HARD COPY in class AND submitted to Turnitin.com by 11:59pm)
